3070ti FE won’t boot?

So I’ve just installed my new 3070ti FE, but it won’t boot and the red VGA light in motherboard is on.

I’ve used the 12pin to 8pin adapter (I think?) which is supplied, but I presume (and hope) this is the issue.

what else could I be doing wrong?

It's 12pin to 2x 8 pin power, make sure to use one power cable for each 8 pin. What psu do you have? Make sure the card is seated in the slot flush.

That’s the problem then. I’ve only got one 8pin going to it.
I’d need to check which PSU I have.

That PSU is not enough power really and you need two 8 pins going into it. I would say 600w as a minimum. I was using a 650w with my one to feel confident i had plenty of power

I managed to use the double 6+2 pins to get it working. I’ll invest in a better PSU I think.
