All of a sudden I keep getting black screen unresponsive crashes when I’m gaming could my new 3080 be causing my M2s to overheat and crash the system?

I had to dial back my ram voltage due to the extra heat given off.
Its a weird one for me I do t think it’s my ram as it’s only at 1.35v, I was playing games all day then all of a sudden last night I would get the game freezing pc crash or a black screen crash, I’m sure it’s down to airflow as my 3080 is right against my intake/RAD of my O11, I may have to buy the XL version and sell this to solve my problem

Have you got HWinfo? You can log your M.2 drive temperature (or anything else that has a temp sensor) to see if the temperature is high when you crash.

Just a thought, are you using the M2 slot (presumably) located right underneath your graphics card? Mines has been fine so far, but I always assumed that M2 slot would be exposed to more heat than the others.

Just to update, I think it was my ram the 2 Center sticks were getting upward of 60c just before a crash, I have put a 120mm fan blowing on them for now and so far so good

Is this your sig rig? What is case and case fan setup? Might be as simple as improving case airflow. Basically every degree warmer air is entering cooler than room makes that component same degrees hotter. So if room is 22c, air entering cooler should be less than 25c. If it air flowing over component is 35c then improving case airflow and lowering it to 25c will lower component temp 10c.

My old case had really poor airflow. I bought an EK M2 heatsink and it knocked nearly 20c off, no problems after that.

I have the Silverstone RL06 which has really good airflow but even then I had to reduce my ram voltage down from 1.49v since installing a 3080 as the heat it kicks off is crazy compared to my old 1070ti.

RL06 has good venting, but how well it flows depends on how good fans are and how they are setup. Does it have 3x front fans? Are there any openings in fan mounting panel not covered by the fans, block them so the air fans push into case can't leak around and go in circles instead of on through case. You might find link below to basic guilde of how airflow works and how to optimize case airflow of interest.
