Hi Guys,

I got my 3080 STRIX today and I play at 1080p 360hz with a 8700k, I see nickmercs with a 3080 and his averaging 200fps on Warzone which I can’t for some reason, I get 250-300 FPS in multiplayer but in Warzone I am averaging 120-160 and it’s just mind boggling me!!!

Does anyone know what my issue is :(

Is your 8700K overclocked? What GPU usage are you seeing?

Wow you buy a 3080 STRIX 4K-8K GPU and lower it power to play on a 1080p just to get the HZ!!! some gamers just amaze me:eek:

It's weird that your getting good fps in mw and not in Warzone but I do have a feeling it's because of latest patch. Have seen many people complaining about fps drops on reddit recently after latest patches.

Did you get the regular strix or the strix OC? I was 25th in the queue when the emails got sent out the other day. Gibbo has not mentioned anything in the forums about receiving any shipments of the Regular Strix or TUF cards

Well multiplayer is less demanding On the gpu than Warzone which has larger and has more players to account for. Try turning down some graphics settings. the lower the graphics the higher FPS you can squeeze out.

On a lot of games the multiplayer performs better because the servers do a lot of the work, on single player all the calculations like AI and stuff are done on your local PC.
Might be more of a CPU thing so probably nothing to do with your issue.

Could be a bottleneck I guess? (1080p is pretty low res, so perhaps its cpu bottlenecking)

You could rule most things out by running some 3dmark benchmarks and make sure you're getting around the usual scores for your 3080. This will makes sure your system is already optimally configured.
Once you've established that, you can start messing with settings to get those higher warzone frames. If it's not getting optimal figures, you can start running other tests to find out what the issue is.

I see your problem though, if I had a 360Hz screen, I'd want to make sure my 3080 was running as close to 360fps as possible, to get the best value out of the screen.

Something is up too with my Asus RTX3080OC in Warzone. I get around 60-70% (180FPS) GPU usage at 1080p with a Ryzen 5950x and 32Gb of 3600cas16 ram. 4k runs fine at 98% usage (140FPS)

Try 1440p (DSR 1.78X as your monitor is 1080p), you may get higher FPS due to your CPU bottleneck or OC your CPU to the limit.

Sure my Titan Xp (3090 arrives Monday) get high FPS at 1440p Ultra in many games 90-140FPS and some newer like Wolfenstein games get over 200FPS.

Did you find a way to increase your fps Sunaman? I'm starting to think I have the same issue on warzone.

I have a intel i9 10900k and 3080 TUF OC GPU. I'm getting 280 frames on cold war. Then 180 on Warzone. I am confident I have the right settings in warzone to achieve the best FPS but still questioning why I'm not getting more.

your cpu limited. with my 4.9ghz 9600k at 75hz vsync on, i get 75% usage at the most averaging 60%. even with 8 core and 16 threads your running 4.5x higher fps (360hz/fps) than me so your 8700k wouldn't be able to keep up with that. cpu usage is very much related to fps. the higher the fps the higher the cpu usage :)

Yeah I'm seeing much less GPU usage than I did with the 1080Ti but I bought my 3090 for streaming at the same time over 3 X 144hz @ 1080p.
The 1080Ti was dropping frames all the time, this 3090 has sorted that out but when I'm not streaming the GPU usage is averaging 60 - 70% which is understandable really as it's realistically a 1440 - 4K card.
The I7 8700k is still a very capable chip but it's not going to be keeping up with the top tier stuff these days, but an overclock will help, I've had my 8700k @ 4.5 ghz on all cores since I had it new and it's been faultless, I did get it to 5ghz but really that was only to see what stable speed I could get.
I'm pleased with the fps in games and with upgrades in the future the card will be used to its potential.
