Morning all, hope someone might be able to help.
My rig:
Asus Rog UW monitor
B450 tomahawk max
5900x
32gb 8 pack ram (16x cl 14 3200 and 16x16 cl 3600) run at 3200 cl 14 also tried 16gb Corsair 3200 cl 16 (on motherboard approved ram list)
Zotac trinity 3080ti (evga 2080 ti ftw3 ultra gaming)
So I used add or remove programs to remove Nvidia drivers/software with internet disconnected on the previous GPU. Put in my new 3080 ti. On boot I got 3 beeps and monitor didn't display anything till the windows log on screen, apart from that all seems fine. Installed new Nvidia drivers and all seemed fine. Restarted and once again 3 beeps and didn't show anything till log on.
3 beeps is supposed to signify memory issues so tried sticks of ram separetly and different configurations I even tried a different set of ram on qvl list, but no display from card although still 3 beeps.
I then proceed to swap gpu's around 2080 ti numerous times, because I swapped ram around bios detects new hardware and I have to run setup on the 2080 ti but works fine showing bios loadup screen and everything after swapping around at least 4 times the 2080ti only beeped 3 times one time but apart from that worked fine. Tried new CMOS battery but no avail.
I'm thinking because 3080ti is not showing bios loading this is why sometimes doesn't appear to boot (new hardware setup e.t.c)
Tried ddu but once again because 3080ti doesn't show bios screen can't get into safe mode so have to do it in windows .
I see online that 30 series seems common to have 3 beeps on startup and a lot of people get round it by disabling CSM but I am already in eufi mode, so maybe this symptom is just a red herring.
Anyways I'll try updating the motherboard bios at the weekend and using DP instead of hdmi, I'll also put together another pc from old parts to try it in. Just wondering if anyone else has experience of this and could maybe give me some ideas on how to proceed.
Thanks, Chris.
