Hey :)
Sorry for my bad english, I'll do my better :d

I have this config :
Aorus z390 Elite CF
i7 9700k
16 go ddr4 Gskill 3200

And since a few days, a new Gigabyte 3090 OC Gaming 24Gb.
But....performances are not what I expected :/

TimeSpy give me 17 500, and Hogwart Legacy run 30-40 FPS ( Hogsmeade espacially), same than my old 2070...
After a lot of researches, I did that :

- installed new drivers with option " remove curretly drivers" enabled, for a very clean installation
- Check profile on 3090 ( jumper is ok, OC mode )
- Disable Intel Shift Speed in my Bios
- change Power Plan to " High Performance", and Disable "PCI Express Power plan"
- enable XMP for my Gskill
- SSD are not full, windows is clean, no heavy task in background etc...

After that, my score is now 19 147. It's better, but a lot of 3080 have this score...
What can I change to improve my score, and my overall performances ?
Ok, my CPU is a little bit bottleneck, but I think there is something else...

Thanks, have a good evening

It's your cpu.... it can bottleneck a 3080 let alone a 3090. You can overclock the cpu but realistically it's a cpu/motherboard and maybe ram upgrade if you want 'max performance' from the gpu.

However the impact will be different depending on if a game/resolution is cpu or gpu bound.

And yes, Lsg1r but I can't upgrade now ^^
If you have a decent cooler you could look into overclocking the cpu which will get you a little extra but if I'm being honest I think you'd have seen a better improvement if you'd have replaced the cpu/motherboard/ram and stuck with the 2080 instead.

I'd also maybe tweak some settings in hogwarts to improve framerates...

Yes, RT on.
And it could be explain a lot of things, I wasn't see than the game had automatically enable RT.
And yes, I could tweak some settings, but Hogwart Legacy it's just a part of the issue. The main issue is my Bench score look like more 3080 than 3090.
A lot of 3080 ( with a small OC ) have 20 000 / 21 000

For Hogwarts specifically, I believe RT is part of the issue, yes. From the benches I've seen on review sites, 30-40 fps is not unusual for ultra + RT at your resolution, for both the 3080 and 3090.

Guru3D's review of the 3090 FE has the score at 16796 (overall), 20144 (graphics score only). CPU: 9900K (stock, 3600 memory).

Eteknix's review of the 3090 has the score between 18,000 and 20,000, depending on the 3090 model used (graphics score only). CPU: Ryzen 9 3900XT (stock, 3600 memory).
