I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 3090FE at MSRP at the beginning of the year, but when it came to finding a second card when splitting my gaming rig from my sim racing rig, I wanted a 3080 but I really struggled and ended up "settling" on a 6900xt when one popped up at RRP.
I recently read that the latest AMD drivers improved performance, so I decided to try overclocking the card to see how close I can get to my 3090. To my amazement, with both overclocked as far as I can get them, they turned out within a few points of each other on Timespy.
I thought it was worth sharing for anyone else in a similar position as the 6900xt actually seems to fairly readily available at the moment, unlike the Nvidia cards.
Definitely worth a shot if you're not fussed by RT or DLSS
