30D & Bigma +Wood pigeon

Canon 30D and Sigma 50-500 @500m taken today in low light. 100% crop no usm just a little levels and crop for web.

I upgraded a couple weeks ago from the 10D and pleased with results so far, just need some good light and subject. The above is a wood pigeon for those that don't know.

Good result Tommy, It looks like the focus point was the end of its tail but hell at at that distance a very good effort. Well done..

Was you hand held or using a monopod or similar.. :confused:

Also congrats on the new camera.. Nice bit of kit.

Thanks for the comments lads. Yes I used a tripod. The weather was grey overcast with lite breeze .
