Next to the PC !
Hey,
i was quite active a year ago on these forums but have just been surfing around lately and not posting much. So yes thats why you havent seen my name for a long time. :)

Anyhow i have been looking for a Tv for my bedroom for some time now. I was looking for a 32" Full HD TV which i could connect a PC up to. Im gona be using it to surf and just stream movies/music to so the resolution has to be quite good, ill also be sitting at about a meter away closest so im not really too sure. Ive been looking at the Samsungs but want to be sure im geting the best screen for the money. I dont really have a price budget but im guessing it will be around £500-£600 for a decent one. So what do you lot think??

Many thanks

Tom

Hate to crap on the thread, but seriously what is the different between a screen like this and a cheaper one? For example the OcUK 32".

It's a Sammy Baby! :p

Seriously now :p ? It's just I'm looking for a nice tv to hook up to me 360 I've just got and don't want to blow too much money but then again I don't want to have to settle with worse picture quality.

As said previously I don't think there are any 'true HD' (which means a resolution of 1920*1080) sets in 32", I think they start at 37" and cost over £800 currently.

There are 32" 1920x1080 resolution TVs coming, but not here yet. Sharp make one in the States, it just hasn't got across the pond. I'd wait a few months and get one then, they should be out by that point.

yea hat sounds like a idea, thing is im going to be decorating my bedroom and just want the Tv to complete it. Thing is if i have to wait a few months that may be perfect as thats when i intend to actually buy it, let me rephrase that when i get the money in :). If there not out by then ill get that samsung as i think it looks real nice, but really i want 'full HD' for the resolution and also the fact that i can see everything turning HD and i want to kinda future proof myself if theres such a thing in electronics? :D thanks for all the advice tho guys thats just what i was after.

thanks again

Tom

well basicly im gona have a desk in front of my bed and the tv mounted up on the wall, basicly the computer will be conected to the tv and that will be the only screen hense me wondering if i need a high resolution to make objects and font clear ect. :)

I wouldn't say 1080p is pointless at 32" if the set is going to be used as a PC monitor and used up close. I mean it's still a lower DPI than most PC monitors. I find 1366*768 just too low a resolution for browsing the web and applications, so I think you're right to want a 1080p set.

Good thing about waiting a few months is the prices are coming down pretty rapidly.

Of course something like a Dell 2407 would be a better screen for use with a PC, but a HDTV would give a better picture with films/TV/consoles.
