Well basically looking for a nice 32" tv for my bedroom, i'll be using xbox 360, sky and my dvd player on it and have a maximum of £600 to spend and not a penny over. What would you all suggest?

PS. It has to be black.

I bought one of those New toshibas last week. TOSHIBA
32C3030D. I ordered it 2 weeks ago for £587 delivered and used quidco for another 3% back.

Just looked on the site I got it from and its now £539. You might find it cheaper. Its the replacement for the WLT66 range but improved. The WLT66 was great TV but prone to RGB banding and backlight buzzing. This TV has none of that. I was gobsmacked how good Freeview looks though it.

360 looks good too. I have it as our main TV downstairs but shall be ordering another soon for my 360 upstairs. If you need pictures I can take them.

That's actually the one i had my eye on along with the Samsung LE32674BDX but on the avforums their panels are a bit hit and miss with people getting sub par panels which are inferior to their others.

I've been leaning towards the toshiba more, due to fact i just like the price of it for what you get. But i am still considering ones such as the Samsung and any other in my price range.

If you could danny, could you get some pictures up? I'd love to see how it looks.

Will do some later this afternoon with freeview and the 360. Got some cars to clean first :(

Ive got the same, but R73 (Exclusive blue panel at the bottom instead of sliver, only for DSG - Dixons, Purple shirts etc.)

Yeah i originally was ready to buy that, but i heard the Toshiba's were very good for the money and had better sound and so forth. Then on the AVForums i was told some r73/74's use the CMO pannel which is inferior to the other panels and the picture is drastically worse than what it should be, which has kind of put me off.

Samsung LE32R74BDX mine has the s-pva panel, you can check in the service menu and return it if it doesn't. Or if you can stretch to £620 the Samsung LE32N73BDX is supposed to be better quality and has 2x hdmi. There's also a new Samsung LE32R87BDX series at £580 with 3x hdmi, not sure of the quality though, but it's bound to be better than the R74.

The thing is i'll be ordering online, so don't really want to do a hit and miss with the panels. I mean if i got the good one then i'd be more than happy, but getting one of the inferior ones would just make me feel cheated.

I looked at the N73 and could justify the price, just i'd rather spend a little less due to the fact im off work for the next 4 weeks and already missed 2 weeks pay due to a fractured foot.

Ive just bought one of these and have got the CMO panel

I got it from Eb*yer.....do you think they'll allow me to return it even though ive opend it and set it up

Well ive looked in the service menu and it is CMO but manufactured in May 06

Arnt the early panels good ones or are all CMO the same

Slightly gutted :)

Managed to get the freeview pictures, which I dont think are bad considering the aeriel I'm running it through til I get my proper house one rigged up. Best pictures I could get as it was sunny and the curtains weren't up yet.....

I will get the 360 ones for you tommorow when the wife aint hogging the TV.

I am really liking that lcd, i might actually get this if a certain place will price match it :D.

Personally for me i'm not a fan of the glossy black bezel on the sammys. Was gonna get the Wlt66 until they replaced it. I'd rather spend £500 ish now and get a better panel in a few years when it settles down a bit.

Well again that's something else i didn't like very much, reminds me of my mates ps3 he has to keep dusting everyday. I was actually set on the wlt66, but didn't have the cash now that i do it's been replaced. If i go for this hopefully it can compare.

Well i would not look at replacing this new one anytime soon as it's merely my bedroom tv and is a fair bit of cash when saving :p so i'd hope to keep it for however long the guarantee is or more.

I think i'll see if this place will match the toshiba's price if they do i should have one by either this upcoming or the following week.

Ugh, i've been meaning to check what panel i have.
Whats the code again.
Is it something like INFO, MUTE, POWER ?

Jay

EDIT - Ahh found it, its INFO, MENU, MUTE, POWER ;)
