32GB DDR4 - overkill now but what about in 5 years time?

Get 32GB mate, here are some great reasons why:

1. You edit in photoshop, more RAM will help you with some of the tasks but more so if you branch out in to video (which is why i've got it) its pretty essential

2. As many mention its pretty essential to have 16GB to allow for modern games (some not all), given you are after DDR4 you've invested a fair bit in modern components so its a shame to compromise on the memory

3. RAM disks... These are really handy, i'm running 32GB RAM of which 6GB is a RAM disk running my live capture and downloads through Shadowplay. There are some other great uses such as moving 'temp' files there to speed up browsing and also automatically trash them on each boot.

4. If you have the money go for it, but as others have mentioned do not trade off speed for the higher size. If anything I would suggest going as fast as you can, if that only affords you 16GB right now then get two 8GB modules and grab a few more in future when money allows.

I would say 8GB is a straight no, 32GB is preferable if you can afford it without dropping the speed... End of the day you won't be sat wishing you had less at any point in time.
