32gb ssd enough for bootdrive ?

Barely. W7 HP needs approx 20Gb, more for Pro or Ultimate. Factor in overheads for formatting and the pagefile and you'd be very close to the capacity of the drive.

You need to decide what, apart from the OS, you want on that drive. To be honest, 32 GB is pretty much just enough for the OS without programs. 64 GB is needed for programs too and for some, 90 or 120 GB would be needed. Remember you need to keep a certain amount of the drive empty for garbage collection and such.

For reference, I'm using ~52 GiB with a 4 GiB page file and 11 GiB of games (some more are on an HDD).

installed lots of junk programs over the years and run win 7 64bit everything including documents, user account information, windows, drivers, 30 programs comes to 32gb on my system.

so id say go for a 64gb model no less.

For just a plain windows install and basic apps+office, yes, 32GB is enough. My HTPC sits happily at under 20GB used on it's 40GB Intel drive.
