32gb USB3 memory stick?

OK I have a 32gb usb memory stick which has still got 25gb capacity available.

Now I want to transfer a 4.9gb compressed file to it but windows is telling me the file is too large when I try to copy and paste the file.

I have no idea what the uncompressed file size is but surely this is not right.

It's either :
1) FAT32 formatted - which has a maxmum file size of 4GB.
2) a "fake" USB drive

Thanks, it was FAT32 so I formatted it and job done.
