33% off Call of Duty: Black Ops.....Is it worth buying

Care to explain how this works? I've read the Steam FAQ but it mentions nothing of disc checking.

Specifically, can I buy COD from Amazon, activate my account then store the disc in my attic and play on Steam?

Been away from PC gaming for about 3 years, so it's all new to me :o

Yeah, you just buy it from anywhere, install it and it ties in with your Steam library by itself, really. Don't think you need the disk in the drive to play it (perhaps with the single player campaign you do). Being tied to Steam means you cannot sell it on, though.

I bought it for PC on release, and although it wasn't a patch on Modern Warfare 2, it was still pretty damn enjoyable. Many fun hours have been spent online. :)
