I got rid of my 335d purely and simply because it was an auto and after a while i just couldnt get along with it. Man did i lose some money on that car
It kinda does - although the autobox is good, it's still a torque convertor automatic. Whilst this suits many there will always be things about it that spoil the experience for others.
Probably the biggest reason I've got the 335d at the bottom of my shortlist is the gearbox - the rest of the disadvantages (the noise and the dieselness mainly) are made up for by the performance offered.
Of course I have, it's got a ZF 6HP26. I'm not criticising the box, it's excellent, I'm just saying my personal preference is for a manual box at this time. I've also driven a car with the stunning ZF 8HP as well - 8 speed - which was a totally brilliant gearbox. I've also tried DCT on a 335i, and again, it was absolutely great but... it wasn't a 6MT.
