Looks to be a pretty low res for 34", even at 21:9

Not fancy the dell GYSYNC? Would play nicely with that 970 of yours

1440p better but dearer, having said that for gaming 1080p ultrawide is very good indeed. Desktop use its a little off/blocky but hardly unsatisfactory. Go for it.

Found this AOC u3477pqu testing

[BF4 - 3440*1440

BF4 - 2560*1080

TBH by the looks of this the difference in game is minimal

If gaming is your prime use I would rather have a solid FPS rather than resolution.

1440p is great...especially when using windows... But Turning all the eye candy up and having constant smooth gameplay would not be such a bad compromise IMHO

Ok you could run 1440p and turn some eye candy off but this would look far worse IMO.

I agree with what the others are saying above. 3440p for an extra £90-100.

In addition to the AOC mentioned above (pretty happy with mine*), I'd be taking a very close look at the £500 Illyama:

*bar that it lacks Windows support for 1440p. Ie 1080p is your only other option than the full 3440, and 1080 looks like blurry rubbish as you'd expect.
