£350 Build

Does it have an 8pin ATX that splits in half?

Not to be confused with an 8pin PCI-E that can become 6+2pin.

this is what it shows on the back of the box

Just try pulling item B apart in to two halves

I think I can even see a faint line on the clip through the middle of it.

Okay. Completed the build but it wont start up at all. Nothing happens what so ever when i press the power on button.

Is the wall socket ON?

Is there a power switch on the back of the PSU and its ON?

Check the case power button is on the correct pins. Or remove and short these two pins with a screw driver tip.

The power button on the case, when you press it, it momentarily shorts the two pins that the cable is connected to.

So pull that cable off the motherboard front panel header and short those two pins yourself with something to simulate the pressing of the button on the front of the case.

Can I ask is that a Z87 or Z97 board?

Is there any life at all? and fans attempting to spin?

I think the issue might be that the board needs a certain BIOS version or newer to use that CPU.

Get a CPU that works with the board since day 1.

Was it a new brand new board or a 2nd hand one?

Im sort of surprised there is no life, no LED illuminated on it etc.

Check the PSU works by doing the "paper clip" trick, take the 24pin out of the board and sort the green wire to a black (ground/common) wire and this is the same effect as pressing the case power button, see if the PSU fan spins or attach a case fan to on of the PSU cables and see if it spins.
