£350 Gaming PC

Interesting set up. I like it.

I have reservations about using a micro case though and you should make room for a 212 evo or even a TX3 but replace the92mm fan.

You want to keep temps down as much as possible in any gaming rig and you cant do it in a micro.

I also would always go for the 7850 with a cheap build but I just couldn't do it with his maximum spend which is why I went for the 7770.

I would also get the 600w coolermaster B600 which is only £2.05 more than the corsair 430w. It would come in handy if he does decide to overclock. The 7850 also uses more juice. Yes yours should be able to handle the set up but for 2 quid, better safe than sorry

Now if he raised his spend to 380, then we would be talking :)

I'll whisper the link. Scratch that, I cant work out how to do it ha ha. He can google it. There are a few out there but I wont link things on forum which overclockers don't have.

I would still pay the extra £6 and get the k380 chassis. There should be plenty airflow even with a card the size of a 7850. Unfortunately the 212 evo wont fit in mine either and is only a couple of quid more. The TX3 is a capable cooler but the fan can get nosy so ideally he should replace the 92mm fan. They are cheap enough so shouldn't be a problem. He can run it with the one it comes with until then.

That processor is a steal really. Usually for a cheap build I would suggest always going down the amd route because the 990 and 970 boards are super for overclocking as well as the processors.

£70 for an I3 isn't bad going at all though. Shame it wasn't ivybridge though. Saying that, I paid £70 for an ivybridge g1620 just 2 weeks ago.

If I had seen that sandybridge I3 I would have opted for that. Weird what a couple of weeks makes
