Hey Guys,

I am after a machine I can do CAD/CAS designs and rendering, something that will be ok with the odd game (so can still use my old Radeon HD4890) and will be good value for money. I will certainly like it if I can overclock it also...

So, I am thinking these parts:

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) - Retail - £185
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - £79
Patriot Viper Xtreme 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz - £72

This comes to £347 with VAT.
Is there any better choice or recommendations as to parts guys?

Thank you!
Luke

The RAM is tall with those heatspreaders, adding a aftermarket heatsink in the future will be difficult unless you select one of those closed loop water coolers.

With the stock Intel heatsink you are looking at 4Ghz± with the temps being fine.

Yes that cooler will make a massive difference, it will be much quieter than the stock cooler and allow for a higher overclock.

If you are looking at air coolers this, this and this are all great choices.

The Gelid Tranquillo is another popular choice for people on a stricter budget.
