You'd get the same PCI-E bandwidth on Z87 too.

Thanks, I hadn't even bothered to look into bus speeds etc. I just assumed from previous experience that it was best to get the fastest RAM.

I will probably spend a little more and get some Crucial 1866Mhz then.

OK, this is what I am currently settling on for a final decision...I am going AMD for the extra cores which I think I will use more in general use as I don't game that frequently. Thanks for all the suggestions and advice, here we go:

Thanks teppic, what would you recommend, based on what you said before, and that I would like something that I can run stock, is adequately fast, not cheapo stuff, and I can use for an OC later on if I choose to?
