Hi all got my new hardware running

Looking to get the temps down on my CPU and the core voltage. Please see below pic overclock set at 4.2.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated :)

I am not 100% sure on the difference but I did drop the core voltage down from 1.3 to 1.240 so assuming thats fixed??

This was via the setting in bio just labeled CPU voltage

well its up to you,but a fixed voltage will use that amount all the time

but an offset will only use 1.240v if needed, and it will auto downclock the cpu speed/voltage if not stressed ect and switch to full speed/voltage if gaming or stressed

to try with offset you need to set the cpu voltage to normal in the voltage list then look for dvid and try

-0.005v and set the llc(loadline calibration) to medium

then see how much cpu voltage is used in cpu-z whil stressing in intel burn test

and adjust if needed,id say you could run 4.2ghz with 1.2v or maybe less

Thanks Wazza,

Tried that and it was on fixed mode ealier.

Changed voltage back to 1.3v (not auto) and changed to 0.005v for dvid

Also the llc had 5 options 1 to 5 so picked no 3

Running at 0.856v idle and load 1.184v

Temps peaked at 76c

sweet thanks for the help,

Thats dropped approx 8/10c of my temps :) May be tempted to push a little harder once i have a bit more confidence and hardware bedded in.

Thanks Wazza

Will have a go this evening once the kids are in bed and I can concentrate. Will get back to you with the results.

Will just increase the multiplier to 45 and then post intel burn results :)

yeah your temps arnt great for 4.2 what cooler you have i wouldn't push much more unless you have better cooler tbh.
