3570k Vs 2500k?

Other than it's cooler, cheaper and performs similarly?

At the same performance levels Ivybridge generates less heat and consumes less power. Sure the cores are hotter, but that isn't an issue since the chip is rated for higher temps.

As for price, the 3570k is going for around £160 at various places including Overclockers. That's less than a new 2500k. Buying one second hand is always a risk.
 
I had both IVY and Sandy.
I sold Ivy and left sandy cos my ivy would not do stable 4.4 no matter what where my sandy does 5ghz with no problems.....
So if you dont plan to pass 4.3ghz go IVY.

so not true, you had a bad chip by the sounds of it.

ivy should easilly make 4.3-5 unless your unlucky
