36 WoW account... GEEK!!!

Love this.. Haha

If he put this much effort into something productive he could make some serious cash instead of spending some!

If he shells out 5000 dollars per year, and 1500 on the day of wrath of the lich kings launch (which was a fair bit back) and has the pc power needed to run the accounts, it's a pretty safe bet he's wealthy enough.

If you know how to overclock a CPU, install windows, what FSB stands for, and how to setup a network on here you're a nerd.

If you do RC cars, you're a nerd (maybe).

But you play an MMO you're a geek O.o

On the other hand, to others, knowing about PC's you're a nerd..

Sounds about right to me :) ('nerd''s meant in a nice way really :p we made the word our own in defiance of the plebians)

I think nerd should be used as I use geek as well a very smart person (knows everything) than I still won't use it

1 WoW Account is enough, why need 5...that is truly sad

I remember reading something similar in PCG a while back although it was actually a couple who did that. They had a silly amount of accounts between them and had like 20+ machines to run them all.

P.S. also old article :o

How does he control them all lol. Surely it would take around 5 mins just to get them all moving
They have all the accounts (well a few of them) binded to each keyboard. They are generally also the same class so with one click, 5 characters do the same spell (e.g. shadow bolt) Same with moving and stuff.
Thats how, plenty of videos on youtube of it probably, just type in dualboxing WoW or multiboxing WoW

Ah right sounds complicated :(

Okay a Harry Hill moment...who wins in a fight; this WoW maniac with an array of 36 WoW accounts or Chloe Sullivan?

Just uses a key cloning software. The software splits the wow accounts in to portions of the screen, then the software allows moue movement and keyboard strokes to be sent to each window.
Just use a /follow /assist macro for most mundane tasks, the "drones" use this and you use a "main".. thats you pretty much set.

36 is a little excessive, I cant see you have really any amount of control with that sort of set-up.

I know a guy who used to be in my guild who used to fivebox / quadbox shaman, he could do that fine on one PC with the help of the software he had. He did it as a challenge. Where most in the guild logged on and off for raids, or had 5 or 6 alts, or sat around ironforge talking ****, he used to box.. nothing sad in it.. just using his time in a different way to others.

He also used a software to map each individual characters movements on a button press, so that they could line up single file with certain spacing, press a button, make the 5 points of a hexagon, press another button and line up side by side. Took some pretty good skill and patience.
