360 and Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

Would it be possible for me to plug an XBOX 360 into the stereo inputs (or any input for that matter) on a creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and get the sound in 5.1?

Looking to basically use my PC speakers as surround sound for my XBOX and if this will work it will work out a lot cheaper for me to do it this way than buying a seperate surround sound system for the box. I assume that the computer will have to be left on but that isn't a problem because it is never off anyways.

Cheers for the help.

Matt

Also another question...

Are the external I/O devices for the Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro and the Audigy 2 Platinum EX the same?

I have just had a quick google and from the looks of things they are (2 optical on the front, firewire, usb, etc.)

Cheers, how about the difference between the two cards? is there a great deal of difference?

The reason i ask is that i haven't actually bought the sound card yet and one of the main reasons for me buying it is so that i can connect everything through my computer speakers (save space), just want to make sure that i am buying the right thing. I can pay the money to get the ZS but i don't really want to shell out the extra money if there isn't any point!

Cheers

Yeh completely agree on the wiring thing...

But i believe that the ZS platinum PRO has an external IO box as opposed to the platinum which has an internal box.

Cheers for the help

Cool,

After researching a little bit more, with some massive help from a couple of good reviews at xbitlabs.com, there are a couple of differences between the two:

The ZS platinum pro has basically the same I/O box (apart from some writing and stickers) but the card also comes with EAX 4.0 and is THX certified. I believe it is also slightly more powerful than the EX version.

Here is the review if anyone is interested:

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Review

In the end i decided to go for the ZS, purely for the reason that it is a bit more future proof (support for 7.1 and THX) and being a student i can't afford to be shelling out again!

Cheers for all the help.
