Now you know I love my 360 but even I'm started to get frustrated by the bugs in many 360 games. I'm wondering if there's ever been this number of buggy games with other consoles (can't remember any true game enders with my Xbox)

Marvel was patched earlier this week with catastrophic results. It was supposed to clean up a few things prior to the Heroes/Villains content patch but the whole thing has blown up and it's caused a delay. The boards are up in arms with corrupt saves, unlocked characters now locked and all, yes all in game items have corrupt stats. I was in the middle of playing through and touch wood I think I'll be able to stagger over the finish line but many achievements (unlock all costumes) are now out of reach.

Rayman Rabid Rabbids has a bug where if you don't do all 4 of an arena events in one sitting (ie switch off and come back) you don't get the unlock. The only fix is to manually go into the system blade and delete the save game. (Had to do this after I realised I'd missed the first song unlock).

COD2 when it was released had a catastrophic save game bug which forced people to have to replay many levels on Veteran (I had to redo the first 2 missions after I finished to get the final achivements.)

DOA4 when it came out had a save game bug if you logged into Live! when off line etc which wiped your save.

King Kong has a fatal bug in one of the levels where a particular event isn't triggered. I managed after an hour to trigger the event by shooting at a particular point in the scenery which somehow hit a dinasour. Many people on the forums had to manually delete their save and start again.

Lego Star Wars 2 I had the fatal system hanging bug many many other people had at the end of Story mode in Ch3 when you have to cross the river. (You have to the whole episode in one sitting and it takes about an hour). I had to redo this 4 times until I and other forum members worked out a way to use R2 to hover over at a seperate time and point.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting but imo there's something wrong with the MS approval system for this number of fatal bugs to get through. What do other people think? Dont get me wrong, I like the system and it's not going to stop me buying more games but I do think things need to get better.

I got hit by the Lego Star Wars bug :(

There was also one in Full Auto that caused people (me included) to lose all my progress in the single player game.

:( Glad i know about the MArvel one, will not update untill i get my other 2 achievements!

They've pulled it so you won't get the update any more. Those of us with it are stuck while they work on a solution :/

The realistic save game corruption on R6 is a pain too. It can revert back to normal even though you started on hard and unless you keep an eye out you might not notice til the end.

The Star wars one caused me no end of grief.

Cloning Clyde I lost my game save and had to do it all again, same with R6.

GRAW had a stage where I couldnt see the last few men to kill, which would trigger the next section. I just had to keep playing the level til the end and wait for them to eventually appear.

To be fair I've had just as many issues with PC games or other consoles.

God, I forgot about those, I got hit by all 3. King Kong was when you were about to get on the plane wasn't it?

Sorry to hear about you missing out on a Marvel save, that sucks. I know you're stubborn though and you'll probably go back :p.

The only one I had was with oblivion where it filled the cache or something, ended up swapping my 360 over because of it, nothing else worked.

Heh, you just know it ;)

I just remembered the TDU one you had. Another show stopper, had you many races to go?

Just been hit with the King Kong one but tbh that was all the excuse I needed to get shot of it. Really didn't click with that game at all.

You can delete the updates from the hdd somehow.

Aye..

For those who want to remove the game update, please do the following:

System Blade > Memory > Highlight HD > Press Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X > Do you want to perform maintainence on your HDD? > Select Yes.

Now, you have removed ALL game updates from the HD including the AU for MUA.

People have been saying that saves made after the patch (I carried on playing) no longer work after the patch has been removed. There are also many other problems being reported... so a lose, lose sitaution.

Also my mrs would kill me if she had to download Shivering Isles plus the other Oblivion content patches again..

Dead Rising - There are a few cases of a bad disc/loading error when trying to start a new game. Hardly ideal, but it was solved by a format of the HD.

MotoGP '06 had an issue where your seed rank would be reset to 100 (1 being the best, and taking a LOT of races to get as it gets lower and lower). Also in the multiplayer game lobbies if you've been on too many menus before you join you can't hear certain people on their mic for some reason.

...Snip...

I was affected by the King Kong bug but I accepted it as it was a launch title. I am less accepting of bugs now. Especially as every other 360 developer has loads of time to release overpriced DLC but not to fix bugs.

I have no doubt in my mind that The MUA bug (if it happens as described) would break me!! I unlocked every single character, suit, comic book etc. If I lost that in exchange for 8 new characters I would be peeved!!!

although I experienced it on PS2 - Lego Start Wars II is definitely one of the buggiest games I've played.

Really odd - first two acts were fine. The third act (presumably a different team, or a real rush to get the game out) was insanely bugged. The whole Endor/Forest bike bit did some really woppy effects. Me and my mate were laughing for ages watching the bikes do endless magic somersaults as we were drunk... then the hilarity wore off and we started hammering every combination of buttons to try to get the bikes working again. The code irons itself out eventually, just had to leave it for ages.
