360 controller making squeaky sound

I would try WD40 but if it doesn't work, it might scupper the RMA as they might say I've invalidated it or something.

I reckon the best thing to do then would be go out & buy a 2nd & then just return that one & when it comes back keep it for a spare, You'll need it eventually anyways. Any 2nd hand places around your manor ?

I dunno, I would hope it would last a good few years - my original Xbox controller has and is still going strong!

One of the triggers on my 360 pad used to do this, annoying as hell.. almost as bad as the noisy vibration.

The N64 controller was infamous for squeaking analog pads after several years of use, as well as grime build-up on the base of the stick. Eventually the stick would become loose, rendering the controller unusable. The choice of hard plastic-on-plastic wasn't the greatest in the world.

Great stream of revenue for Nintendo.
