I think my 360 is dying :( tried playing the demo of Arkham Asylum and it kept locking up. No red ring just freezing up. Tried Burnout Paradise and that locked up also :( cleared the cache but still no joy.

I take it this is the beginning of the end for my 360? Had it since January 2007 and it's never caused me a problem before. It has good ventilation and is not near any heat sources.

Any fix to this or do I wait till it red rings?

This is how my old 360 started, random lockups, curruption on screen etc, the a few days later 3RROD.

Jan 07 if it get the RROD you will be covered by the 3 year warrenty with MS for RROD.

But if its been opened and warrenty void, you could do the X-Clamp fix.

How would one, theoretically of course, help the RRoD to appear quickly?

Run a heavy graphics game and put it under a few layers of towles, will overheat something rotton.

My mate did this to his to "make it less noisy".

He's not the brightest.

Didn't have to do anything after all. Turned it on to see if it randomly fixed itself and got the RRoD :(

I've heard this before, my xbox was a fighter, it went from launch to just last month, no degradation just died one day, quietly and without incident.

But yes, if it's out of warranty definitely get yourself on an auction site pick up an "x clamp fix" kit and open her up.
