right i bought an elite today as i decided it was time to upgrade form my core + hdd. I got a jasper too which is all good :P so the questions i have are:

1:How long do you think ms will take to send me my transfer kit.
2:Im currently using VGA (at 1360x768), is it worth while for me to use hdmi instead, as this would out put in 720p which is a lower res than 768p obviously (is there a real difference) also
3: will using hdmi allow me to play original games that i couldnt before i.e LOTR ROTK
4:When i transfer my data will rockband songs etc be transfered too? is there anything non tranasferable?
5:do i need to do that thing on xbox.com with the licence tranfer or something?
6:finally what do i need to connect a hdmi to my tvs dvi input

thank yall in advance:P

1. Varies. Usually not very long.
2. If your monitor is 720p native, then set the 360 to 720p
3. You can play xbox games using vga or hdmi
4. everything gets transfered.
6. hdmi to dvi dongle

hey my tvs res is 1360x768

to 3. when i play some original xbox games, they get a pal 50 error i wondered if it would be adressed with hdmi

turn your 360 on using the standard composite cable connected to the tv, and set the xbox to pal50 that way. you may end up having to change it back to pal 60 for other xbox games though

If games support PAL 60Hz, they'll be fine over VGA and HDMI. If they only support PAL 50Hz you'll only be able to play them over HDMI (Or composite/component).

Phrased differently: Games must support 60Hz to work with a VGA cable.

That's the reverse of the issue the OP is seeing.

The video shows PAL 60Hz only games not working on a PAL 50Hz only TV, the OP is having a problem getting PAL 50Hz only Xbox originals to work over VGA (PAL 60Hz only)

Unfortunately the new Elite's don't come with either, composite only for some bizarre reason. So it all depends which one you got.

I can't remember what the old ones came with, I know they came with the HDMI cable but not sure if they had any others in the box.
