360 failure rate

That's true, people only make threads about broken ones. I wish they would stop posting though because does everybody really need to know if your xbox has died?

Damn right !

Knowledge is power my friend I WANT to know as much about a product (Good or bad ) as possible, particularly BAD if I am thinking of buying one.

It`s bad press like this which should give manufacturers a good kick up the jacksie.

I think there is a higher than average 360 failure rate, i mean there has a lot of threads about this on the ocuk forums over the past fews months.

And the people who are on their 5th 360s all i can say is

Exactly, if you brought a Tv or dvd player or even a 4200 dual core chip and it broke 3 times in 6 months would you buy another or recommend that item to others?

You wouldn't buy another, you'd get it replaced...

Yes replaced with something different. There isnt a person on these forums that would keep exchanging say a samsung lcd for another if they had 4 faulty ones in 5 months.

I think the problem is that MS send you out refurbished second-hand consoles and not new ones. These seem more likely to break in my experience.

Still having trouble with yours? :(

Mine and a couple of others I bought at launch have been fine (apart from Nors) since launch. What have Microsoft said about your latest one Nor? Got any further to getting any compensation?

My original died and now has my replacement.

It's getting rather annoying now!

its perfectly normal, dont worry.

ive still got a working megadrive, snes, n64. hell even my atari 800xl is going strong. but peopel on their 3rd xbox in under a year? normal mate.

yeah ok. im being sarcastic :(

I am pretty gutted tbh. The first was used for about a week b4 it died and the replacement has not been used for more than 5 hours due to being busy. Now this has gone. Imagine what the next will be like once it gets used daily!

Yup and theres ppl into double figures too, but as everyone says its normal to have to keep sending your 360 back every couple of months when it dies, you have to with everything, im onto my 12th x1800 XT here, but hey its normal, i'll tell yer what is a bugger though, having to keep stripping down my PC when stuff like the mobo, and CPU etc... dies, im onto my 8th mobo, 4th CPU, that heatsinks a bugger to get off as well, still its normal. :D

I remember us having this same conversation on email. I toldya mine would die first ;)

If this one dies I might have to think long and hard about whether I carry on with it. I love it but no so much that I should put up with failure rates of 3 or more consoles in a year.

Im going to get rid of mine now, aint used it for about 2 months now, its just sitting here collecting dust, the noveltys wore off, im just not interested anymore, i hardly game on my PC either, aint really gamed for years tbh, but i thought getting one would get me back into it, but nope.

So as a wedding present (according to my wife's heat magazine ;) ) Ashley Cole got a one off Xbox 360 decorated with crystals to the tune of £47k. I his doesn't get borked ;) I wouldn't mind getting his refurb :D
