360 friends list problem

Got a strange problem going on with my 360 friends list at the moment. I have a friend I regularly play FIFA with, but for some reason my friends list never shows him as being online, even when he is. We can still join parties and play the game, its as if hes permanently hiding in offline status

Any ideas ?

Nope, just checked and nobody else can see him :/

Click the guide button
Scroll right to Settings tab
Choose Profile
Then Edit Profile
Then click Privacy Settings
Then Online Status

Make sure its set to 'Everyone' or 'Friends Only'
