360 friends list problem

Got a strange problem going on with my 360 friends list at the moment. I have a friend I regularly play FIFA with, but for some reason my friends list never shows him as being online, even when he is. We can still join parties and play the game, its as if hes permanently hiding in offline status :confused:

Any ideas ?

He hasn't got his status to appear offline or anything...can other friends of his see him?

Nope, just checked and nobody else can see him :/

my cousin is always appearing off line, i think they set their status to apper offline

His status is marked as appear offline. Just set it back to the default and all will be normal.

I had the same problem - I was appearing offline to friends even when I was online and my online status was set to online.

The problem is due to the way he has his privacy settings. I can't remember the exact location of these but I think i got to them through xbox guide button and then account management or something like that *

There are a few settings that you can change to allow/restrict who can see your online status in there.

* will double check when I am home this evening.

Here you go...

Click the guide button
Scroll right to Settings tab
Choose Profile
Then Edit Profile
Then click Privacy Settings
Then Online Status

Make sure its set to 'Everyone' or 'Friends Only'

even easier

go to xbox.com sign in then next to your GS at the top of the screen there is a green button menu click that, then choose manage profile then on the next screen choose privacy settings its in there

this link will take you there if your signed in

i have similar problem on 1 of my friends cos it dosnt tell me if hes online and wen im playing a game with him it still says hes offline
