360 Game problems, Yes already,...

Where did you get the game from?? I blagged it once in Virgin saying that i put the game in, did'nt work, so took the game out to find a ring of scratches. They believed it and replaced it with a new one. Sorted!

EDIT: Sorry, just relised people have already suggested what i have, forget! :p

Hey people, give the guy a break.

Shimy hasn't blamed the 360 for damaging his disc. He’s acknowledging the fact that he knocked the console while it was on and that the underside of the disc was damaged.

It's been roughly 24 hours since i had the 360, and my first problem has already started...
Well, it's not the 360 thats the problem, its the disk.

In an attempt to get the disc repaired he took it to Blockbuster to skim the underside. After the "repair" the disc is now damaged on the topside (data layer).

Now here is the important part, was the topside of the disc damaged before his trip to Blockbuster (i.e. was it the 360 that did the damage when it was knocked) OR was it the disc repair at Blockbuster?

Again, Shimy didn't start his original post blaming the 360 so don't go jumping down his throat!!

OcUK needs more people like you :p,
Anyway no, it was deffinately done by the machine, as there is a ring on the data side of the disk which was caused by the machine while clamped on the rotor. the damage (the hole see though scratch) is along that line.

I would definitely go and see someone about it, or atleast contact someone higher up in Blockbuster.
If Stelios still doesn't have one at his store I am guessing that they are pretty new. Surely they wouldn't want it getting out that their repair machines actually ruin stuff.

As for you knocking the console, it happens. I've done it before, as have all my mates and all accidentally. Thankfully all but one (my escapades with Football Manager 2006 which McDaniel delightfully gloated about on here) are working fine.

After working in a few Blockbusters branches part time for some extra cash I can honestly say that if the disc wasn't cracked it would go back on the shelf (even if it did look like the picture posted). If a disc didn't work we would just send it back to the warehouse and we would get a new copy shipped in (customers didn't get charged as it would be hard to prove)....

Obviously I am not condoning this sort of behaviour but during the 2 years of working there you can tell tons of people do this :)

Would you move your pc whilst burning a DVD or installing windows? Jeez, some people. I read this thread and thought it was another faulty 360.

no i wouldnt , but i "could" and id still have a working disc

they could have fixed it for an extra dollar or so per console

hell ive pulled a ps1 off the shelf in a pro evo induced rage years ago and the disc still worked !
