360 HDD for under £35

Well I was gonna keep one of the drives for myself and buy a Core system in future... never mind!

IIRC from my days at Tesco's. If they incorrectly priced something on the shelves they legally had to sell it to you at that price at the till. I can not see how this is any different. I would contact trading standards and get your £35 HDD.

This letter proves their guilt.

That surprises me because I thought the shop prices of items were merely an offer to treat. As for online stores, they all have an E&OE policy and I don't have a problem with that. They do say that if something looks too good to be true, it usually is :) £35 for those HDDs is most probably well under the wholesale price.

Well I like to make abit extra money for myself, I dont earn a lot £880 a month so any del boy dealings I can do help pay the bills each month and fund my 360 games.

And no I dont buy tickets, I only spot the odd deals and see if I can make some money out of it.

Wow, I feel so sorry for you - not. I know plenty of mates that opted for work instead of a degree and they live happily on that amount.

On this occasion, we will not be honouring the order that you placed for the hard drives please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused. We are able to confirm that no monies have been taken from your account

*****

Some people have got theres, think I am gonna email then and ask why, sly ****.

Probably because so many £34.99 orders processed you were more near the back of the que and when they found out they sent these emails. :(

They have ****** me about all week thought with stupid emails about my payment details, now they do this, hot happy.
I had one of those emails too - probably because the transaction was for over £100 or something.

At the end of the day they are muppets whichever way you slice it

If you REALLY wanted them I reckon a solicitor letter would get you them.

Last Xmas my Mum was hunting for Xbox360's and on Currys website they had a Core 360, 1 extra controller, face plate and 5 full games for a grand total of £210  So she ordered it and got a similar email, went down to the sols, paid £40-50 for a letter and got the Xbox and games for £210 :D Sold the games for £40 each and the Xbox for £280...... I wont mention that after all that Currys even forgot to charge her the £210 ;) Look in the dictionary under the word Jammy and there will be a picture of my Mum.

Yes, I've emailed you my bank account details.

Thanks!

I checked but it has not come through.
How much do you want?
Don't forget to include your passwords etc so that I can do the transfer.

Very strange, I shall get right on this as I could really do with some extra cash now we're getting close to Christmas.

I shall send another email and will include all my passwords this time!

:p

Not legally you didn't. As dirtydog says, that price is an offer. You go to the til, offer them the ticket price for it, and they accept.

They don't have to accept your offer though.

in real shops, goods with price tags are an offer to treat. in reality it means until you have given them your money there is no contract.

online is slightly different. i would argue that if you had to tick a terms and conditions box, and clicked a button something akin to "go" or "yes" you had formed legal relations with woolworths and are therefore in a contract with them....

edit- spelling

edit- their terms and conditions about changing prices arbitrarily may break contract law, not sure though. defo worth taking to tradin standards imho

Trading standards would probably laugh tbh. I can't see why people are getting annoyed who planned to buy loads to sell at a profit. buying from websites is not the same as buying from a high street/retail shop.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E&OE

I'm no expert but E&OE is common on websites, It protectes them from mistakes, and you if the item was overpriced.

your link kind of proves the point- and error/ommission is not something that allows them to override your statutory rights.

an error would be pricing it at 6.99 or 69p- the price of 34.99 shouldnt be classified as an error according to the definition from your link. it is more along the lines of something that "wouldn't reasonably be able to use it to say "oh we meant to put +VAT on the page - it was an error we didn't".

fight for your rights yo :)

but not if ** a greedy ******* who bought more than one

I'm sure that if there was a similar offer where you thought you could make money you would buy from Woolies again. Fact is you got greedy and it didn't pay off. By your previous posts sounds like you do this kinda thing frequently (trading) so win some lose some and all that.... You should speak to trading standards if you feel you have been genuinely wronged.

I reckon if you had just ordered one you MAY have gotten away with it, but we will never know I guess.

I dunno what a TMX Elmo is.

Edit: Woolies advert on TV just as I posted. Freaky
