360 HDD

Did microsoft ever unlock the software for the 360 to use a none branded HDD.
The boy needs a bigger HDD can i drop a 1tb laptop drive in or do i have to get a microsoft HDD.

I think i heard if its done they can ban if its detected. Never had an xbox though.

No!, i mean there was an update to let you use a external HDD for games storage, but there was rumor there would be an update to let you use any 2.5 HDD internally. i have googled it but no joy finding info, i am wanting to know before i buy a drive that would be no good.

You can use USB storage but only to a certain size:

yep upto a max of 32gb, look like al be buying a xbox hdd
