Hi guys,

I took my Xbox around to my girlfriends house and connected it via hdmi but I get no picture. I figure it's probably a resoloution problem but without seeing the screen I can't change it to a resoloution the TV supports :(!

The TV is a 42" LG that's probably a few years old.

I have tried the lead, changed the input etc.

I have tried the hold y and right trigger (didn't even look to reboot tbh) and i don't have access to any other tv or a component cable either :(!

Any chance somebody could be so kind to as give me blind button Commands to navigate and change the resoloution please?

Any help appreciated!

Cheers :)

I don't mean to sound like I'm being sarcastic, but are you sure you're on the correct channel?

AV? HDMI? Whatever, on my Panasonic I have to change the channel to HDMI 2 for my xbox :)

Yeah, it's on the right channel mate. I take the hdmi lead straight out of the sky box and put it in the Xbox and I get no picture. I put the cable back into the sky box and then the TV comes straight back on :(

I would try the display reset again (think you need to do it as the console boots up), make sure it actually reboots or you probably have not done it right.

If blind mine is set to no auto start so just boots up on the game icon on dashboard, I assume you have the latest dash, so would be.

rb x6
a x4
then you are in the res menu

Thanks for the reply, still can't get it to work though :(!

I think the right trigger and y thin doesn't work too well with a wireless control... I can't get it to reboot no matter how many times I try :(

Thanks for trying to help though :)

If the display problem is still not resolved, reset the display settings of your console. Here's how:

Remove any discs from the disc tray.
Turn off the console.
Turn on the console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.

As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold X while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

It's x not y :D

Just read on another forum that this something to do with 'display discovery' option. I apparently need to turn it off.

Any chance of a few more blind commands to try and disable this?

Thanks :)
