Because he said "hardcore" rather than "passing interest"? ;)

Looks good, but as has been said, the sandbox environment has been so wasted in previous superhero games like Spiderman and Hulk. They really need to make there be a point to having a whole city to explore in this, and just hiding a few collectable items around the place won't cut it.
 
It's EA. The game will most probably be a shoddily tested, half-hearted attempt at what could be a great game. Add to that the possibility of it being a direct port from the PS2 or Xbox version, it will most likely end up being crap. EA have a proven track record of putting out bad games, especially movie-based ones. I won't hold my breath until it's out and I read some unbiased reviews on these forums.

Those look like FMV stuff to me, as those are also on the link above, but the ingame shots look well bland, no detail on the buildings etc... and superman looks bland as well.

Id say the very first shot in the opening post is FMV to, as it looks totally differnt to this one here :-

Id say thats in game, and just looks a bit better than the superman 64 shot above, i hope these are very very early shots.

They said in the IGN article that it's basically just a proof of concept build so don't worry - I'm sure it'll get a complete overhaul before becoming a game.

It looks amazing from a scale/sense of grandeur scale though! :D
