360 switch/ router?

Hey...

A friend wants to share his ethernet cable modem with a laptop, PC and his 360. I basically wanted to know what would be the best kind of option for him to go with. He wants to do it as cheaply as possible

Linksys. I have never had a problem with them ever.
£50 router (or £70 if you get the a/b/g signal router for flawless no-lag video playback over a wireless network). £20 for a PCMIA wireless card for the laptop and £60 for the wireless adaptor for the Xbox360.

Thats what I would recommend, thats if you want to go wireless.
For the router definitely go for Linksys though. WRT54G is a cracker.

as far as I know, my friend just wants to stay wired, because everything is in the same room..

Thanks for the help though, I should have said it was a wired setup he required... was to tired to remember

Well, get that Linksys router anyway, still takes wired connections.
