360

It's only worth buying if the games available for it interest you. Start there, then make your mind up :)

I agree 100% with Nismo.

I would also add that if you aren't in a hurry to buy then wait until it's a little closer to christmas as you may find better deals and/or bundles which would include games that are released later in the year.

Also thinking about getting a 360 so might as well jump in this thread.

How noisy are they? Would the noise be disruptive to in game noise or if the machine is well ventilated are they actually pretty quiet? Just wondering as I've read some reports that they're v.noisy however am thinking this is people exagerating?

TIA

Yes they can be load, but I think they vary a bit. I play my games/films quite loadly through my surround sound anyway, so i dont tend to hear my 360s fans :)

is it worth buying a 360 as prices have come down to £129 with game or £169 with 1 game and 60gb hdd?

With a huge and cheap games catalogue to play through, there is something there for just about anyone and at those prices its well worth taking the plunge :)

Strongly recommend you get a HD to go with it though, theres a lot of demos to download and try out.

They are loud, but I never notice it when actually playing a game. If you do, turn your speakers up from 0!?!

Thanks for all re replies re the noise. Consensus seems to be fairly loud but not unmanageable. Definitely hasn't put me off getting one and at least I've got an excuse for turning the volume up loud if the wife complains ;)

Glad I found this thread as I spent ages uhming and ahhing around town earlier on should I buy one or should I not :D

I'd decided on a 60gb elite version with Force Unleashed and possibly Halo3 but I haven't read any reviews lately and have no idea which games are total trash :o

Whats the best of the new games at the minute, bearing in mind my tastes are very varied so I don't follow a theme but I want something that will hook me in for a few hours :)

I'll probably pick it up next Saturday if I can make my mind up.

They were worth buying at £280.

Playability yes, RROD no.

My only reason for not considering one till now in all honesty. I don't really care if they have a warranty for 3yrs, I'd rather buy something that doesn't break :D

CoD4 going on the list though I've heard nice things about BF: Bad Company. :)
