360's HDD/Memory can be READ & WRITE now~~~

What does this mean exactly? I'm confused. You can already read and write game saves etc so this is something else presumably.

Well its bad news for us because we run a OcUK Leaderboard. Based on your Achievments and Gamerscore. Im not saying that if you do import someone else's save game that you will automatically earn the points as ive not tried it.

But im sure the opportunities there, sucks really.

I didnt think acheivements were transferable, or did I misread the article.

Anyone know if this can be used to pull screeshots from PGR3?

Aren't acheivements and gamerscores linked to the profile. So although you will have the 90% finished game of, lets take Kameo, you will have none of the acheivments.

Achievments are based on how far / well you do on a game, the further you get through a game the more achievments you get.

So if you go an import a save game for PGR3 with 100% complete, what im thinkingn is the xbox360 might suddenly say "this profile is out of date i need to update it with Live!" and update it by the % of the game completed.

Im not sayings its true, only its a possibility.

It appears that is not the case although i was thinking the same thing as you Snipergecho. Heres a quote for a well know xbox site which posted information on the program

Xbox 360 gamesaves can be transfered to another Xbox 360 console and profile, but all 'LIVE achievements' will be disabled of course (achievements are linked to the LIVE profile).

It could be quite a useful program for people with old xboxs as savegames can be taken from your old box and put on the 360.

I used to love getting 100% saved games on the Xbox on games which I couldnt be arsed to complete myself, some games I just wanted to muck around on like GTA etc.

· If I download a saved game file, will this unlock the achievement as well?
Unfortunately it will not
.

If you want the achievement points you will need to actually achieve them yourself. When you meet the goal to get the achievement, it activates the achievement in the actual game. The achievement has nothing to do with the actual saved game file.

For example, if you download a game save that has every level of Call of Duty 2 unlocked, you will not automatically receive the achievement for "Completing Basic Training" or "Won the War."

Again, this will not unlock achievements if you download these game files

I would have thought that Microsoft will have something ready in a LIVE! update sometime in the future to combat any miss-use of this. I'd rather not have any potential LIVE! games ruined because of this.
