36G HDD big enough?

if your going to resort to name calling then I'll leave you to it. You obviously just feel you are loosing the argument and have to justify yourself in this way. Pathetic.
I have owned several raptors as well as dozens of ide sata and sata2 drives. Moving large files between two raptors has always been a lot quicker. Is this REAL world enough? As I say I leave you miss informed youngsters to it.

Who called you names here?

Back to topic please.

For me the 36GB Raptor is pointless these days, the only thing going for it is it's lower seek time but it's too big a sacrifice for the paltry capacity you get with it.

There's no personal attack about it. It's silly to believe the specifications of a manufacturer over those of a known and trusted reviewer.

The fact remains that these drives are a waste of time and money.

Well, I'd hardly say Tom's Hardware is the best source of information.

And to the OP, get the Raptor replaced like a good boy :)

ha ha, its sat nite, me being a bit p1sse3d and lol at the agg going on here. jeez, chill out boys, its a hard drive, and anyway it went back yesterday so roll on tuesday/wednesday when hopefully i can finish my new new rig and get down down to the nitty griity.

Just for the record I had a 40gig spare drive to use instead and it's nearly full already so the 36er would have been a complete waste of time........... :D

enjoy your weekend ;)
