Iv read reviews and iv seen scores off tests.

Is the 74gb an improvement over the 36gb one?

I recently bought a 36gb raptor and it was no improvement over my 250gb WD SATA. And the review i was looking at which tested a lot of hard drives including the 36gb raptor and 250gb WD, showed that only the access time of the raptor was beneficial....it was no faster at loading windows up and games etc.

Whereas the 74gb raptor showed improvement in loading times etc, and is supposed to be the fastest of all raptors.

So, is the 74gb an improvement over the 36gb? Is it worth getting? I sold my 36gb because i so no chance.

Yeah.

Im not fussed about capacity, im after speed. I was attracted to the raptor-x but the only thing special about that is the clear top. So the 74gb is definately faster?

I saw the loading times of Windows were a lot quicker in the 74gb and some others compared to the rest of the hard drives they tested.

I bought a 36gb raptor off the bay (bargain price at £60), didnt see any improvement what so ever in anything, so sold it back on the bay for £50. Only a £10 loss. I just dont want to buy a 74gb raptor to be disappointed and lose more money again.
