I want to get a new TV to use with my Xbox 360 and also Sky HD. I've been in a few shops and the I can't see a lot of difference.

Should I wait for a television that can do both 1080i and 1080P?

Also LCD or plasma, which is better, I don't watch much sport but what the picture to be good on both normal and HD feeds.

I'd stick with LCD to be honest.

Read this thread for ideas about the right 37". I'll be getting the Samsung listed in there.

Good luck finding a tv that does 1920 × 1080 for about 2k

1080p is for the future dude, there are no broadcasted 1080p things coming in the near future, like on Sky HD or cable.

On a side note what about the Sagem 50" DLP you can get one for 999..
