3700 & G-power pro cooler?

Hi, I've currently got a Gigibyte G-power pro cooling my xp 3200 and on the slowest speeds,1750 rpm, get temps of 34'c idle 42/3'c under load. In the next week I'm upgrading and getting a 3700 sd and wondered what the g-power would be like cooling that or would I be just as well using the stock cooler as I've seen that thats pretty good.
The side of my case is windowed so the g-power would look better but would rather have cooler temps as I intend to do some mild oc'ing.
Also how quiet is the stock cooler, just I used to run the g-power at about 2400 rpm and it blended into the sound of the other case fans but since I 7v modded 2 of my fans and replaced the others with akasa ambers the cooler had to be turned down cause it was clearly too load now it needs to be on its slowest setting to blend in with the other fans.
 
Temp should be lower than that with one of those I'd say - you got the computer near a radiator or case not so good with cooling? I've a stacker with umpteen fans, crossflow etc, sounds like a hanger full of jets taking off, but at lowest speed I get idle between 27-32 and max load I ever saw was 39 (playing WoW, burning on 3 seperate instances of nero and downloading off a fileshare client all at same time. WoW slowed a little but it managed ok, saw max temp of 39 deg c).

Sounds like your case cooling is covered but maybe worth dremmelling a hole in the side to vent some more hot air with another 120mm?

Every review lists the G Power as up there with the best in air cooling, but the noise it makes at full chat really is awful - similar to a jet plane revving up constantly! However I personally don't think you would get better temps from Scythe Ninja or Artic Freezer pro, at least not worth the extra outlay, but living with the noise is something a lot won't do. I live with it because, like you, I set the speed to match the other fans in the case (loads o them, I must be partially deaf by now.)
 
I have a G-Power Pro cooling my Opteron (see sig) and it idles at 28c, full load 41c. As long as your case temps are good (mine is 30c) you won't have a problem. The G-Power is one of the best coolers around so little point 'upgrading'. :)

Hmm I'm sure my temps are fine for an xp cpu, they all run a fair bit hotter then what I'm getting on stock coolers.

Anyways thanks for the comments, when I get the chip I'll try it with the stock cooler and check temps then stick on the g-power and recheck and hopefully see some lower temps.
