3700x upgrade?

Why does it feel like I'm back on the Corsa-C forums "will this k&n give me more BHP?"

Because people who want a hot hatch and buy a 1.2 Corsa often try and compensate by fitting inappropriate add-ons that make minimal - if any real - difference. Spending hundreds of pounds to net 30fps more when you're already hitting 100-120fps which is upto 83% the monitors maximum is pretty comparable, it's also likely the improvement from overclocking would yield near enough what op is looking for with zero expenditure, but that's not what op asked, even if it's what someone should ideally understand before throwing money at the problem.

I think most of us would agree with everything you've said here but there's not a chance on Earth you're getting an extra 30fps, on top of what he already has, from overclocking a 3700X/5700XT.

If budget is genuinely not an issue, then I guess the best you can do is a 2080ti. Warzone doesn't appear to support SLI (from a very quick check) so that won't help. But as others have said, it's probably not going to get you to where you want to be, that'll be the next gen.

Reviews suggested 7% average is about the limit on a 5700XT, that gives (using ops figures and not reference review figures) 107-128fps or 74-89% of what the monitor is capable of. This is the point where you hope they either have deep pockets as more than that will require induction mods and likely different coolant or a new transmission, or realise that the cost for the extra 11-26% is generally disproportionate to the benefit in this hardware cycle, especially as prices are artificially high at present.

Simple solution. Get a 2080ti. Fastest retail gpu effectively. Run two of them even. Then you know you can't go faster currently. Solves issue. Only way to cure an itch is scratch it till its gone and doesn't bother you.

I know this won’t get you much but it’s well worth checking that your memory speed is correct. My nephews motherboard defaulted to 2133 so worth a look did make a noticeable difference when the correct speed was setup. I would also have look at memory speed tuning. Hardware unboxed did a very good YouTube vid.
