That article makes it unclear if he did actually do any hacking at all, being that it says he had a stolen key that he used to get in, and he had obtained teachers passwords in order to log into the system. It seems the main crimes he is guilty of is theft and trespassing, so I very much doubt he will get 38 years as the article suggests. At least I hope not as that would be excessive.

I live in Oregon and there was a man who was just sentenced to 12 years in jail for molesting 11 different children at his mother's day care facility.
How is it possible that someone who literally ruined the lives of 11 children on gets 12 years while someone who committed nothing could get 38????
