3800 X2 On Air

This is the 939 version, is it possible to hit around 2.6-2.8 on air? If so, whats the best cooler avaliable. Cheers

easily done running mine at 2.8-2.9Ghz, Tuniq Tower or Thermalight Extreme would get my vote.

Never seen a 3800 X2 that wouldn't run 2600MHz aircooled at stock 1.35vCore. I recommend a second hand Thermalrigh XP-120 heatsink, works a treat!

Don't bet on it. I've had one that wouldn't break 2.5GHz. Managed to swap it into a machine running stock and the one from there is doing 2.9 in the same motherboard.

2.6 nice and stable, can do more but then have to up the volts

i've had 3 of them and 2 would only do 2.5ghz and the other did 2.7ghz.

I think 2.5 is about the average ( excluding the very late ones)

Yep, mine only did 2.5GHz @ 1.35v too!

Isnt the default 1.35v? Have mine running at 2.65ghz at 1.45v with an artic cooler.

Yep, my Opty 170 does 2.8Ghz at that voltage! I must've lucked out and got a pants clocking x2

i had one of the latest 939 3800's, it did 2.8ghz on stock volts

Mine does 2.6Ghz @ 1.2v and 2.7Ghz @ 1.35v. Using a crappy arctic alpine cooler.
