Afternoon guy/girls

I have a problem with my HIS 3870 iceQ I was installing AION the other night got to the character selection screen, and my montior flickered and the whole screen was smeared with colours going horizontal, and black dots as it was flickering even more then i got a BSOD, i thought this was rather strange and did a reboot and i was getting no signal from the monitor, so switched over the DVI connection, and the screen started up again but the bios and every thing has black dots over it, and when trying to get into vista it had the horzintal lines then would BSOD and stay in a contious loop, it would only be stable in safe mode, but still would have the problems with the black lines/dots.

Which made me think it could have been a driver/registry problem so i got my self a copy of windows 7 it arrived, and began a fresh install and reformated my HDD, but while going through this process the suspect problem still remained with the horizontal lines and black dots, I'm pretty stumped so I dug out my old graphics card 1650pro and it's working fine, I installed W7 and got the correct drivers for my 3870 uploaded them, stuck the card back in but no joy, I just considering getting a Asus 4890, I think a RMA is out of the question? its been a year or more now I've had the card but I'm not to sure if the service is available? Any help is kindly appreciated

Regards

Ben.

I had something similar with an old ati1600 about 18months ago where the screen just pixelated even in bootup, whacked in a 1650 and all was well

(meant to edit other post)

sounds like it's borked. If you still want to use it you can try downclocking the GPU core or Memory.

If its borked, no chance of a RMA then or does the RMA account as the warranty? also I can't actually get into windows, soon as it loads it will BSOD, can you change the clocks in safemode?

Regards

Ben.
