Got a MSI 3870x2 today, installed it seemed ok using the msi drivers supplied, reboot and try to run ccc but it says no ati hardware installed anyone any ideas, previously had a 8800gts but removed drivers through cp?

Clean the drivers from your pc with driver cleaner in safe mode ati/niv both of them reboot install vga from cd then download the lastest 8.1 or you could always just stick with the msi cd ones.ATI cards always unless vista need vga drivers installed before ati/CCC drivers.
hmm not sure i have got netframework installed was sure i did, gah! uninstalled what was there, rebooted into safe mode, used driver cleaner for nv and ati (all of them) rebooted installed ones on disk, rebooted, same thing, drivers are now installed but not ccc
blimey its now 12:30 and im still not sorted 
been installing vista again kept freezing, to find that it was due to having 4x1gb sticks in, took 2gb out and its done the install, but as I have upgrade vista it takes much longer, just installing chipset drivers etc and updates, making sure i have netframework install then ill try again, if it dont work its going back
