3870x2 poor 3dmark06 performance

ok had a 8800gt and just upgraded to the 3870x2 (thankyou overclockers for yet another speedy delivery)

and 3Dmark03 gone from 43K to 65K

but 3Dmark06 gone from 13K to 10K - yes its decreased

otherwise np

using driver 8.3 +Cat

and FPS in games dont really any better

Play at 1920x1200

no other driver issues

It is the 8.3's and a known issue, just ignore it, in games it is fine.

If you are really bothered about getting an accurate 3dmark load on the 8.2's, but that is the only thing they are better at than the 8.3's

Now if you was to try 8.2 you would see a big change.For some reason 8.3 made 3dmark 06 perform pants.

yeah as said above its an issue with 8.3 cats, with 8.2 i get 16000 but with 8.3 i get 12000. In games 8.3 cats are much better

8.45 leaked cats fix the 3D06 problems not bad in game either!

I got 8.451 with my card never tryed them tbh.

Hmm I'm still getting in the 17000 with the cat 8.3's on Vista.

With the 8.3s I'm getting 19703. Don't worry really though, as others have said, it should be fine for games.

I found a small improvement with the 8.3 drivers over 8.2... would suggest making sure all the nvidia ones are fully removed and reinstall the drivers.

power supply was good

Used driver cleaner - then reinstalled XP

Posted here and elsewhere seeems its the 8.3 driver when 3Dmark06 but other reckon 8.3 is better in games

roll on 8.4 and 8.5
