3870X2 problem

i have a 3870x2 on an asus p5n32-e sli plus which has the latest drivers.

i can sit on xp fine, but when i play cod4 for 5 mins, the screen turns off and i have to reboot.

i have both the 6 pin plugs into the card, and the fan running perm. on 40%

running cat 8.4

any ideas? case has excellent ventilation

Did it only start since installing the 8.4 's ?

Are any components overclocked (cpu/ ram) ?

I had a Sapphire 3870X2 that did this. Some games it would run fine then others it would crash even when not heavily loaded. RMA'd it and got the Asus 3870x2 instead and that works fine on the same system. Temps on the sapphire werent bad either, was just a duff card.
