3870x2 running cod4

Ha no wonder its choppy, 2560x1600 and wait for it they actually turned AA on :D if it was off I bet it would fly! Still cool to see the card and its clearly ready! Hmmm dunno how big the card is, defo overhangs the mobo however, just cant quite tell how much by

Also $400-500 so we probably will be looking at the £270-300 price range then :(

Dunno why, but I want one....

still got a GTS unopened at home. Still deliberating on whether to keep or return and wait for one of these.

Edit: oh wait, is this longer than a GTX?

lol, somehow posted this is the wrong thread.. meant for gibbo's '8800's and 3800's this week only thread'! lol.

I can see this hitting at £250-275 which is a pretty good price. Certainly be cheaper than the bodge job nvidia is offering.

Its funny how next to the keyboard it doesn't look all that big at all. Its mainly the cooler making people think its longer than it is as it covers near the entire card.

...

SAME SIZE

Exactly same? Hmmm.... its jsut that I had to mod my case slightly to get the GTX to fit, however the cooler on the GTX did not extend til the very end of the card. On this it extends right to the end of the card. Just don't feel like modding mycase any more or trying to force things to fit. Guess will open up the GTS tonight and stick that in and be happy until there is more than one game it can't run very high.

For the expected price I'd prob say get a GTX (and normally I'm pretty vocal about ati's stuff I think), unless your prepared to potentially do a lot of fiddling to get a game to work properly (it's getting better but progress has been very slow until recently with crossfire drivers).

Had a GTX, two infact, bored of them, had them over a year. Wan't some new toys to play with.

ATi have said multi GPU is their future, even the R700 has a multi-core GPU, so they need to get CrossfireX and the scaling right, as their future cards depend on it.

Personally i'm willing to give it a try, crossfire 3870 scores are good, so can't see why the 3870x2 would be any worse.

Im wondering how performance would scale with 2 x2's in crossfire mode. Surely to god it would kill anything else out there, sli'd ultras? Thats IF it works properly, we all know how the gimmick of quad sli fared, it worked with some opengl games and that was about it, besides that 2 x1900's killed it in most other games.

I'm sure we'll find out at the end of the month when all the reviews come pouring in.

Hopefully well though, as after all that is what CrossfireX is all about!
